Website FAQ
Use the questions and answers below to help you manage your website.
How do I create a new page?

From the home screen select the "My Pages" option. To create a new page click on the "new page" button at the top of the next screen. After you select this you will be asked to title your page. You must give each page a unique name. Once you've titled your new page you will then be asked whether you would like to create your new page from a template or just use a blank page.
If you are just starting or you would like to save some time in the creation process, We recomend that you use the template pages. Blank pages give you more freedom but it usually takes longer to create a page layout from scratch then it does just to modify an existing template to meet your needs.
How do I add content to my page?
First you have to be in the page editor screen. You get here by either creating a new page or editing an existing one. Once in the page editor screen on the left hand side you will see a list of "Web Blocks". You can drag these web blocks onto your page to add content. Each web block will add a different type of content. You can see what content will be added by rolling your mouse cursor over the block first. After the blocks have been added to your page you can then select that block of content and edit it.
How can I edit my existing pages?

From the home screen select the "My Pages" option. On the next screen most pages can be edited by simply selecting them from the list on the left side of the page and then hitting the "edit page" button at the top of the screen.
Some pages called "smart pages" can only be edited through the other managers. For instance the content on your "Photos" page can only be edited in your My Photos application.
How do change which pages show up in the main navigation of my site?

When you are on the "My Pages" area you will see a list of all the pages on your site in the left hand side. In this list there are three different categories.
The pages that are listed in the "Main Pages" section are the pages that will show up in the main navigation on your site. You can drag and drop the pages to change which section they are in as well as change the order of the pages.
How can I create dropdown navigation for secondary pages on my site?

You can drag and drop pages on top of these pages to create subpages. These will now show up as dropdown menus in the navigation on your website.

How do I use a custom domain name for my site?
You will need to first purchase a domain name if you don't already have one. You can purchase one from sites like
godaddy.com or
networksolutions.com. After you purchased your domain name you will need to point your "DNS A-record" to the IP address or our servers at 72.32.249.98. If this sounds too complicated, don't worry you can usually contact the company you purchase your domain from and they can do this for you.
After you have purchased your domain name and pointed it to SnapPages, you will need to go into your website settings and change your domain name to match the one you just purchased. Once all this is done the change can take up to 48 hours to take effect. If your domain name still does not bring up your SnapPages website after that time, contact us for further instructions.
Note: Your hosting company may ask you for the SnapPages nameservers and try to point your domain this way. You do not want to point the actual nameservers to SnapPages because then you will lose all control of your domain for things like email addresses. What you want to do is only point the "DNS A-record" so that only the part of your domain that handles websites will be pointed to SnapPages.
