Class Descriptions

Taerobics - A fun and energetic way to work out combining techniques from various martial art forms such as tae kwon do, muay thai and kickboxing. Grab a bag and punch, kick, knee and elbow through a great cardiovascular workout with great upbeat hit music. You won’t even realize how hard you are working.

Basic Training - A total body weight and resistance training work out focusing mostly on the core (abs, trunk, hips, lower back). Using resistance bands, medicine balls, physioballs and dumbbells, this class will tone your entire body, not missing a single major or minor muscle group. At least 15 minutes of class at the beginning and end are devoted to a total body stretch and tension release.

Ultimate Fitness - Push yourself through a circuit workout combining kickboxing techniques with fitness exercises and core training stations. A 20 station circuit to current dance music will leave you exhausted but physically fulfilled. Get your heart rate up with punch/kick combinations for two minutes then move on to two minutes of physioball sit-ups then back to kickboxing.

Spinning - A 45 minute hardcore stationary bike ride up and down hills and through speedy sprint segments. Combine both the power and speed aspects of biking to crush your legs and lungs into shape. At least one class a week ads medicine ball exercises to work the upper body as well. Let the beat of the music guide you through a total body bike workout that is second to none.

Core of Steel - 30 minutes of abs, lower back, trunk and hip exercises. Mostly focused on the abdominals, this workout will tighten and cut up your midsection. Using light weights, medicine ball and physioballs, your core will thank you when the rest of your workouts jump to new levels based on your recently developed core solidification.

Yoga - Kripalu Yoga unites the body and mind through conscious breath allowing the body to flow, while increasing strength, improving flexibility, enhancing balance and calming the mind. Experience a “Meditation in Motion” in a compassionate non-judgmental practice that allows you to choose the level of physical intensity that is right for your body. Appropriate for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners.

Tabata - A Tabata workout (also called a Tabata sequence) is an interval training cycle of an amount of minutes of maximum intensity exercise, followed by a short amount of minutes of rest, repeated without pause for a number of sequences. The intervals tax both your aerobic and anaerobic energy systems.

Boot camp - Don’t let the name scare you. This fun and new age class combines agility, speed, strength and endurance in a total body conditioning class. Tip toe through ladder drills, tone through a body bar circuit and lunge wall to wall to get your heart rate up. Then, improve your fitness by holding planks and suicide sprinting until there’s nothing left in the tank. As with any class, a self-paced workout is encouraged.

Performance Training - A combination of all aspects of training, cardiovascular, muscular and conditioning. A warm up is followed by a 15 minute spin. We then head into the weight room for 15 minutes of circuit training finished up by a 15 minute conditioning session on the wavemasters. This hour long, fun, energetic class will be over before you know it.
