Marcus GoldmanTaekwonDo Instructor
Marcus Goldman has been training under Master Giorgio since 1997 and became a 2nd Degree Black belt in June 2010. His most important “training” comes from being a dad to his 5 sons, all of whom strongly influence his outlook on life, every single day. Marcus received his undergraduate degree from Union College and his medical degree from the State University of New York/Health Science Center at Syracuse. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Goldman is an associate professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, and has had past academic and teaching appointments at Harvard Medical School and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Goldman is the author of numerous books, including “The Joy of Fatherhood” and “Kleptomania.” One of Marcus’ goals has been to convince more adults of the many emotional and physical rewards and benefits of Taekwondo. It’s never too late! He is happiest when he is with his family, at the studio.
Lori GoldmanTaekwonDo Instructor
Lori is the mother of five boys, ages 9 to 19. Her five children and her husband are all black belts. Lori graduated from the SI Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University, with a dual degree in advertising and consumer studies. She decided to pursue her interest in medicine and completed her nursing degree.
Lori worked as a pediatric nurse in the Emergency Room at Boston Children’s Hospital and is the co-author of “What to do after you say I do”, a book about the first year of marriage. She is now a school nurse in the Sudbury Public School system.
Lori loves working with children and encouraging their love of martial arts. From her own personal experience with her children, Lori knows firsthand the discipline, confidence and fun, Giorgio’s taekwondo offers to each child. She knows personally how taekwondo has benefited each of her boys in school, personally, and socially. Besides trying to master concepts of taekwondo as she prepares for her next level, she loves spending time with her family, cooking, and training her 200 pound Irish wolfhound.
TaekwonDo Instructor
Lisa Hanson is a second degree black belt and had been at the Giorgio's School of TaeKwonDo since 2001. Lisa has been an instructor at Giorgio's since 2006. Lisa has been married to her husband for 23 years and is the mother of four children.
Two of her children have practiced TaeKwon Do. Her daughter will be testing for her black belt this year and her son is a blue belt. Lisa believes in playing as family, not only do they do TaeKwonDo, but they spend a lot of time on their boat waterskiing together.
TaekwonDo Instructor
Annie Lawson began her martial arts training in 2002 and is currently a 2nd degree black belt. Ms. Lawson has trained under Master Robert Giorgio and Master Joe DeMusz and is a Kukkiwon certified black belt instructor. She promoted to 1st Dan in June of 2007 and has been teaching Taekwon-do to children since 2005. Annie is the mother of three including a red belt college freshman, a 2nd degree black belt high school junior and a recommended black belt 8th grader. She believes that Taekwon-do is much more then the art of self-defense. While the study of Taekwon-do promotes physical fitness, balance, awareness and self-confidence, she knows the tenets of Taekwon-do - Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit - are really a guide to leading a good life. Annie has competed successfully in several regional taekwon-do patterns competitions.
Ms. Lawson holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and left her research position in 1994 to spend more time with her family. She was an adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Widener University for 5 years and is certified as a High School Chemistry teacher. Ms. Lawson is currently on the board of Sudbury Girls Softball, has coached girl’s softball for many years and spent several memorable years as a Girl Scout troop leader. Annie is an avid runner, but her true passion is taekwon-do.
